Life Coaching is an ongoing professional relationship between the coach and the coachee that helps people produce extraordinary results in their lives, careers, businesses or organizations. Through the process of coaching, coachees deepen their thinking, put into action their strategies and translate this into their lives. In essence it is the process of facilitating positive change by improving thinking or, polishing your potential.
The principles of coaching that I employ are: self-directed learning, stretch, positive feedback and structure. The approach I take, is a framework which has a three-level process, this delivers significantly more value than just having general conversations, it gives coaching a backbone and a clear, logical framework which facilitates the journey and ensures that learning takes place, but the real value of coaching is at a deeper level than just setting and achieving goals, the ultimate aim is to help clients to fulfill their potential.
Confidentiality and trust underpin the coaches’ relationship with the client. Respect of the client’s information is key. The approach taken is that every client is unique, creative, resourceful, and whole at the outset. Accordingly, the responsibility of the coaching engagement is to:
- Discover clarity and align with what it is that the coachee wants to achieve.
- Encourage self-discovery.
- Elicit solutions and actions to underpin the strategies adopted.
- Hold the client responsible and accountable which will include from time to time, stretching and pushing for a result which accelerates the progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice.
The duration of the programme is 12 weeks and comprises a weekly one-hour session. This can take place face to face or telephonically in a confidential environment.
